The problem between the Tutsis and the Hutus started even before the president was killed. After Belgium came and took power of Rwanda they order that everyone person in Rwanda has an identification card labeled with the person’s ethnicity. In the card it was label whether the person was Hutu or Tutsi. The differences between the Hutu and the Tutsis was started to become a big issue and they started to identify everyone. A Hutu was stocky and round faced, dark skinned, flat nosed, thick lipped and square jawed. A Tutsis was lanky and long faced, not so dark skinned, narrow nosed, thin lipped and narrow chinned. bringing out those difference brought huge conflict between the Hutus and the Tutsis. This connect to why the genocide happen because is showing how different the Hutus viewed themselves from the Tutsis. The division was made clear and the Hutus wanted nothing to do with the Tutsis causing the mayor conflict.
